1. Yes, I found this book engaging as it showed how much the child loved and missed her mother and how the black and white people lived together.
2. I think the author wants to tell her readers not to be racist and not to care about other people's status whether they are black or white.
3. Yes, August seem real and believeable. She reminds me of my mother, being caring like a mother.
4. Yes, part of the story makes me feel uncomfortable. I felt uncomfortable when Rosaleen was being beaten up by the dealer. This has not led to any new understanding or awarenes of some aspect of my life.
5. I have learn to not judge one by its looks and not to be racist. I have also learn to show respect to others whether I like the person or not.

Title : The Secret Life of Bees
Author : Sue Monk Kidd
1. Yes, it was engaging. It shows how white people can get along with the black people, just like how Lily and Zach had done. Also, slowly realising that there will always be someone who cares about you. Also, this book talks about facts of bees using really good descriptions.
2. I think the theme was unconditional love given by the mother. The author is trying to say that no one is not loved or cared by someone.
3. Yes, they seem real. No, i am not able to identify with them. This story reminds me of my family members.
4. No, I am comfortable with the book. I now understand that whatever everyone's parents did for them, it was all for their own good, because no parents wanted the worse for their children.
5. I have learnt that being racist is not a good thing in life, as some day we might need each other's help. Also, we should show more respect towards our parents.

Yu Jie's most memorable childhood memory
When I was 5 years old, I learnt to play Table Tennis. Although I did not like the game, I continued with the training.I continued with the training because my father wanted me to out of love for him, I trained hard.
I fell during the competition. My father rushed to visit me when he heard that I was sick. I was very touched by my father's love for me.
From then on, I trained even hard so as to make my father proud of me.

Seakim's most memorable childhood memories
I love dogs from the day I know such animals exist. When I was about 6 years old, my dog gave birth to ten puppies. I was amazed that my dog gave birth to such many puppies and I did something special to for her after the puppies’ birth.
That’s right! Milk! I love drinking milk, thus I gave some of my share to her. Many people are afraid of being bitten by dog when it is feeding its puppies, but I was brave enough or maybe not, it was more of me knowing nothing about dog biting me. I reached out and placed the can of next to her mouth. I was not shocked that she did not bite me. I stood there and watched her lick the milk.
As I watched her licking up the milk, I began to smile delightfully. I cleaned the can and dry the can after she finished it. We were close ‘friends’ until her day came. Now that she passed away, I still feel her presence in my heart. And it will always be there…

Rui Jia's most memorable Childhood memories
I remebered the first day of my primary school life. I was very shy but I want to thank this person who has made me overcome my fear of being shy to make friends. It all began on the first day of school when we were in the classroom waiting for teacher to arrive.
I felt like crying for my mum because the I feel as if I am in an alien world where I could ot recognise any familiar faces. My “rescuer” went to me to introduce herself and asked if I was all right. I could not control my tears anymore and I started crying. She comforted me and accompanied me to the toilet to wash my face.
I will not forget this incident and until now,we are still best friends. We have not contacted each other for a long time but even if we do not, she will alwasys be my best friend and I will never forget her.
